MGP Teacher Bio Page

MISS GINA:  For the past twenty-three years I have been the proud owner of Miss Gina's Preschool.  I am also the, administrator, principal, office secretary, pre-kindergarten teacher, hugger, nose wiper, plumber, cook,  dancer, singer, behavioral manager, puppet master, reading specialist, playground hide and seeker and much, much more.  My job is one that is filled with the most joy and surreal experiences that only one who works with children,  can really experience.

As a parent of two beautiful children, Anthony 21, and Dominique 17 I have learned that parenting is the most difficult job of all.  All you can do is give your heart and soul unconditionally and hope that the world does not damage your priceless gems.  You can always be assured that when your child is here at MGP we will always step in where you left, and continue to guide, love, and teach your children; for that is the instinctive nature of all of us.   The school-- home connection is a partnership and that is what makes our center a Parent Involvement Center.

I am blessed...blessed with a wonderful husband of 23 years and amazing children.  My staff is the core of MGP.  Our dedication to teaching is demonstrated everyday through these special doors.

MISS CHERYL:  Hi!  My name is Cheryl Smith.  I am a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga Falls.  I am married and have two grown children that both went through Miss Gina's Preschool program.

I joined Miss Gina's staff in 1997 after graduating from the University of Akron with a degree in Early Childhood Development.  Over the past fifteen years,  I have taught the 3's & 4's and the PreK classes.

I am currently a PreK teacher and serve as Gina's director.

.

MISS BRENDA:   My husband Mark and I have two daughters, Shannon (17) and Carlie (12).  Both are alumni of MGP.  They now attend school at Woodridge.

I have been a PreK teacher partner and co-director for the past nine years.  Prior to the start of my career at MGP, I was a parent helper.

I look forward to school every day. The reasons I love being a teacher are because of the children's excitement, laughter, curiosity, and the whys and how comes.   Every new school year is exciting and unique; just like our students.  To me, all students are individuals.  There are never two the same.

MISS JENNIFER:  I live in Cuyahoga Falls with my husband Jeff and two daughters Natalie and Olivia, both are graduates of MGP. I am starting my 5th year at Miss Gina's as a co-teacher in the 3 and 4 year old classes and I can honestly say I love what I do.  Each day is a new adventure with our little ones, from tears to laughter and everything in between.  Seeing their faces when they figure out how to make the scissors work or just how proud they are of the picture they made for Mom makes it all worth it.

MISS LISA M.  I have been a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for the past eight years along with my husband Scott (of 20 years).  For the past four years I have been raising my boys Joey, 7 and Sammy, 4.

This is my first year with the MGP staff as a teacher partner.   Prior to joining the MGP staff I volunteered my time between both MGP and Richardson Elementary, where I still volunteer in the library.  I am a graduate of The Ohio State University, class of 1993, earning a BS Degree in Family Resource Management.   I've worked in several managerial positions prior to raising a family.  Over the past few years I found myself being drawn back to working with children and I am excited about teaching with Miss Gina and the wonderful staff at MGP.  I look forward to working with the children and getting to watch them learn and to grow.

MISS JODI:  My name is Jodi Leiter and I am the head teacher of the 4's class.  I have been with Miss Gina's since 2002 working with the 3's and 4's.  I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Ashland University in 1992.  I began working at MGP after being a stay-at-home mom for several years.  I discovered a love of early childhood education! I live in Cuyahoga Falls and I am married with four children ages 7 to 16.  My two youngest attended MGP and have many fond memories of their time there!!  Working with young children is one of the best jobs anyone can have and I'm honored to have you share your children with us!

MISS MOLLY: Hi!  I am Molly Bradley, head teacher for the 3's and 4's class.  I have been teaching at MGP for eleven years.  From the time I was a child, the only thing I ever wanted to become, was a mom.  I'm sure that is why I chose early childhood education as my career.  I am a mother of five and grandmother of three.

MISS LESLIE:  I am Leslie Matheny. I teach the kindergarten group for Miss Gina.  I met Miss Gina many years ago when my daughter was a student at MGP.  Miss Gina was the inspiration behind my decision to go to college to get a degree in early childlhood education.  My twelve years of teaching experience cover preschool, kindergarten enrichment, tutoring for Akron Public Schools, and working as a small group instructor at Richardson Elementary. This is my third year back with MGP and the second year that I have taught the private kindergarten program.

Along with a passion for teaching,  I have a passion for learning.  I am a recent graduate from the University of Akron Graduate School.  I received my Masters Degree in elementary literacy. I  am fascinated by the stages of emergent literacy and the teaching process behind literacy. I can't imagine doing any thing else.

I've been married for 26 years and live in Cuyahoga Falls.  My daughter Sofie is a 10th grader at Falls High and a member of the marching band.

Miss Amy:   My name is Amy Dutt.  This will be my sixth year at MGP.  I am married and have three children, all have graduated from MGP.  I am a graduate of The University of Akron with a degree in Accounting.  I switched to a career in teaching; frankly because it is more fun!

Miss Lisa O.:  Hi, my name is Lisa Ondash and I’m in my second year here at MGP.  I graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1991 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.  After marrying my college sweetheart Chris, I became a Substitute Teacher in several school systems.  We have lived in Cuyahoga Falls for 15 years and after having our 2 kids, I became a stay at home mom.  When our kids went to MGP for preschool, I reignited my love for teaching.  My passion for teaching is fun.  I want the kids to leave that day thinking they had a really great time learning and they want to come back for more.

MGP staff consists of the most dedicated, devoted, inspired , unconditional, and enthusiastic teachers.

Each teacher is a intricate piece to our MGP puzzle which makes our center the successful school it is.  You will fall in love with their remarkable sense of leadership and unonditional love they have for every child that walk through these doors.

MISS RUTH:

Congratulations to Miss Ruth who just celebrated 25 years of service with Miss Gina.  (12/11)
